Healing with Meditations respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects visitors to do the same. This page explains who owns what on this Site, how we handle third-party material, and how to ask us to remove content you believe infringes your rights.

1. Our content

Unless credited otherwise, the articles, layout, design, original illustrations, original audio and video, and the compilation of all material on healingwithmeditations.com are © Healing with Meditations and are protected by copyright.

You may quote short extracts for review, commentary, teaching or news reporting, with attribution and a link to the original page. Republishing whole articles, mirroring the Site, scraping it, or using its content to train machine-learning models requires our prior written permission.

2. Third-party material on this Site

Some pages include material we do not own:

  • Embedded videos from YouTube are streamed by YouTube from the rights holder’s channel under YouTube’s own terms. We do not host or redistribute those files.
  • Music and audio referenced or embedded remains the property of its composers, performers and publishers. Where we discuss a recording, we do so as commentary and we do not offer downloads.
  • Images are our own, licensed stock, or used under a licence that permits the use. Attribution is given where a licence requires it.
  • Openly licensed text, such as material adapted from Wikipedia, is used under its licence (for Wikipedia, CC BY-SA) and must carry attribution and a link to the source and licence. If you find a page where that attribution is missing, please tell us — we will add it or rewrite the passage.

Trade marks, brand names and logos belong to their owners and are used for identification and commentary only.

3. Reporting infringing material (DMCA notice)

If you own a copyright, or are authorised to act for the owner, and you believe material on this Site infringes it, send a written notice to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works).
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with the exact URL(s) on this Site, so we can locate it.
  4. Your contact information: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner.

We accept notices by email. If you require a postal address for formal service, write to the address above and we will provide one.

Please put “DMCA Notice” in the subject line. Notices that omit a required element may be invalid; we will tell you what is missing.

4. What happens next

We review every valid notice promptly and, where a claim appears well founded, we remove or disable access to the material expeditiously and notify whoever posted it. We may act on a good-faith basis while we investigate.

Please note that misrepresenting material as infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Fair use, fair dealing, quotation and commentary are lawful; consider whether they apply before sending a notice.

5. Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice containing: your signature; identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district (or, if outside the United States, any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complaining party notifies us that it has filed a court action.

6. Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts and contribution privileges of anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright, in appropriate circumstances.

7. Other rights

To report a trade mark concern, a privacy or image-rights concern, or a defamation concern, write to the same address with the details and the relevant URLs. If you would like to request permission to reuse our content, or to license an article or image, we are usually happy to say yes — just ask.
